Location:
Bagno di Romagna is located in the province of Forlì-Cesena, in the area known as Romagna Toscana, a few kilometers from the border with the province of Arezzo, beyond the Mandrioli Pass. Bagno di Romagna is a haven of slow living and has recently received prestigious recognition for the beauty of its landscapes and history: it is among the most beautiful villages in Italy. "The Most Beautiful Villages in Italy" is a selective national circuit that aims to enhance Italian villages that represent an exclusive sample of historical, cultural, artistic, environmental, and local tradition heritage.

The purity of elements, the natural warmth of the waters, the intensity of flavors, the friendliness of a small mountain community, and the quality of services, born of a long experience, are the souls of a land of encounters: with the history of the long-standing connection with Florence; with the pleasure of the body, pampered, massaged, lulled by the thermal waters; with nature and its network of villages and paths; with gastronomy, both refined from great chefs and convivial from small inns; with the spirituality of sacred places that dot its surroundings.

A truly interesting place to visit, a preferred destination for motorcyclists who, from both sides of the Apennines, enjoy ascending along the winding curves leading to the summit of the pass, located at 1173 meters above sea level. The ideal destination for a motorcycle trip, but even if you are not a fan of two wheels, explore Bagno di Romagna without fear to discover the traditions of an area, that of Romagna Toscana, decidedly away from mass tourism but at the same time capable of pleasant surprises for those who decide to visit it. In fact, Bagno di Romagna is actually a scattered municipality, composed of numerous hamlets and locations, including the capital Bagno di Romagna and the nearby San Piero in Bagno, both located in the valley drawn by the Savio River, which rises in these parts and flows into the Adriatic at Lido di Savio, in the province of Ravenna.

Start your visit with a stroll through the historic center of Bagno di Romagna; you can admire the Captain's Palace, now a venue for art exhibitions and the city's historical archive, and the Basilica of Santa Maria Assunta, an important Romanesque-style church with several works from the Florentine Renaissance inside, including a statue depicting Saint Agnes, a work by Andrea della Robbia. The basilica, along with the Oratory of the Madonna del Carmine and the rectory, forms a unique museum complex. Walking through the narrow streets of the historic center of Bagno di Romagna will take you back to the times of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, among old buildings, stone walls, and buildings reminiscent of those in Florence, with towers and balconies. The main street is Via Fiorentini, which opens onto the beautiful Piazza Ricasoli. Also interesting is Palazzo Salvetti, with its ancient iron balcony and coats of arms at the entrance.

The thermal waters of Bagno di Romagna flow from the source at a temperature of 45 degrees and are channeled into two thermal establishments, oases of peace and relaxation to make the most of your stay in the heart of the Tuscan-Romagnolo Apennines. The beneficial properties of these waters were already known in Roman times, and their fame has reached the present day. The two establishments are Terme Santa Agnese and Terme Ròseo Euroterme; choose according to your preferences, but both are high-quality wellness centers, where you can enjoy relaxing massages, hydro-massage spa circuits, and also benefit from the expertise of on-site doctors and physiotherapists, affiliated with the National Health Service (SSN).
